Failed attempt at imaging NGC 6960 in Veil Nebula. C2000Z image is on left - for comparison with long exposure astrophotograph on the right at similar scale. Image at left is a sum stack of thrity-six 32 second exposures. Ambient temperature was around 45 degrees fahrenheit with an air-cooled Olympus C2000Z digital camera coupled to a 31mm Nagler eyepiece on a 20 inch Starmaster Dob. I suspect that the camera in spot metering mode was not keeping the shutter open for the full 32 seconds, being triggered by the brightness of the star 52 Cygni.......or maybe this nebulosity is just too faint for my setup. I'll try again under colder temps.
